Jeff Ferguson – Casting Director
Jeff’s interest in fly fishing started as child in the early 1960’s fishing the Louisiana marshes and freshwater cypress lakes for bass and bream. He was introduced to the Instructor Certification Program in 2012, and in 2014 became a Master Certified Casting Instructor. Shortly after, he achieved L2 examiner credential.
Jeff enjoys teaching and mentoring future instructors. He serves on the Executive Committee of FFI’s Gulf Coast Council and is Chairman of the Casting Committee. He is a past member of the FFI Casting Board of Governors, and continues to serve on the FFI Casting Program. He conducts casting programs across the country. He’s received several honors for his contributions to casting, including 2019 FFI Council Award of Excellence, 2023 FFI Mel Kreiger Casting Award, 2021 GCC President’s Award, and 2024 GCC Excellence in Education Award.
Being fortunate enough to live in Southwest Louisiana, he enjoys frequent casting to redfish and speckled trout in the shallow, productive marshes close to home.
